I grew up listening to the music of John Stewart. I wrote this song, with the help of my friend Helen, in the months after John’s death. I hope all his fans out there will enjoy it and remember him.

Helen and Amy…an amazing and wrenching tribute..THANK YOU! You two have the talent and the opportunity to pay John Stewart the ultimate tribute — to carry on his legacy.? When one brave angel flies at dawn, you will absolutely know his name. Hope to hear so much more from you in the days to come!
Wow, nicely done ladies! All the pictures and album? covers. There are no words for what he meant to me.
Thank? you so much…I miss him too!
@IglooMusicUK Thanks Dielle! We recorded it and gave it to my Dad as an anniversary present a couple of years ago now. He then contacted John’s fan club? and told them it was here, hence all the lovely comments from the States. x

Thank? you for this.
A perfect tribute to a man who has touched us all. This is one you can be proud of for amplifying what his cult always knew.?
Made me want to cry. I’m a 60 yr. old man.?
Thank you from an old guy stuck in? the musical era of the Trio and John Stewart.

A fantastic tribute? to John, whose songs touched everyone who listened. Thanks.
Helen and Amy….I just can’t thank you enough for this. I didn’t know John personally, but his music has been a part of my life forever. On a magnificent spring morning in Tuolome Meadows in the high reaches of Yosemite, as the first blush of new life kissed the land, the poetry of “July, You’re a Woman” made everything whole. After John’s death, your beautiful piece has (almost) made things whole once again.
Thank you for saying what I wish I could? have said!
With love…
Hi there, Thank-you for your lovely comment. We saw the video on your JS memorial page. We’ve really enjoyed performing and recording the song. I’m really lucky to have a great singer like Helen to? bring the song to life.
Thanks everyone for your comments and support!
Amy
I’ve watched/listened to this maybe 20 times since you put it up (and embedded it on my JS memorial page on Blogger). It is a fabulous composition and performance, even beyond the highly emotional connection that we Stewart fans feel to its subject. Your integration of John’s own themes and melodies and chord structures into what remains your own original song is truly? remarkable. “Sublime” is about the best that our English vocabulary affords us to say of this artistry.
He? must have a smile of joy up there when he´s listning to you two preforming so full of sensitive feelings singing/playing his songs!
Thank´s both of you from Sweden
